The Colorado Blue Columbine (A. caerulea) is the official state flower of Colorado. The Columbine is a hardy perennial, which propagates by seed and will grow to a height of 15 to 20 inches.

            The Texas Bluebonnet (Lupinis texensis) is the official state flower of Texas. The Bluebonnet is a biennial plant which begins its life as a small, gravel-like seed and shoots up a 20-50 cm plume of blue flowers.

            The Sunflower (Helianthus) is the official state flower of Kansas and is an American native plant grown for beauty as well as a seed (food) crop for birds and humans. The Sunflower is an annual plant that can grow as tall as 16 feet in height with flower heads as much as 2 feet across.
